Name of God
Jehovah Rapha,
“The Lord Who Heals”
This Name of God comes from the Hebrew word rophe which means “to heal, cure, restore, make whole”. Combined with Jehovah/Yahweh, the Name means “The Lord Who Heals”.
Jehovah-Rapha has the power to heal physically (2 Kings 5:10), emotionally (Psalm 34:18), mentally (Daniel 4:34), and spiritually (Psalm 103:2-3). God heals body by preserving from and curing diseases. He heals soul and spirit by pardoning iniquities.
God first revealed Himself to the Israelites as Jehovah-Rapha after He had brought them out of Egypt. After three days of wandering in the wilderness, they people needed water. Jehovah Rapha “healed” water that was not fit to drink. He, then, told the Israelites that He is “The Lord Who Heals”.
Jesus demonstrated that He was Jehovah-Rapha in His healing of the sick, blind, lame, and casting out demons. Jesus also heals His people from sin and unrighteousness.
Application: God has provided the final cure for Spiritual, physical, and emotional sickness in Jesus Christ. God can heal us.
ESV: “saying, ‘If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.’ ”
NOG: “He said, ‘If you will listen carefully to Yahweh your Elohim and do what he considers right, if you pay attention to his commands and obey all his laws, I will never make you suffer any of the diseases I made the Egyptians suffer, because I am Yahweh Ropheka.’ “
Prayer to Elohim
“Elohim, the mighty creator of the universe and all that is in it. I PRAISE you Elohim, for creating me as a human baby and never leaving my side as I grow and learn. I ask your FORGIVENESS Elohim, when I take my life and your creations for granted. I ADORE you Elohim, and I am filled with awe when I think of your power. I THANK YOU Elohim, for being the All-powerful creator that you are. Amen & Amen
