Name of God:
Today’s Scripture Writing Verse Jeremiah 1:8 ‘Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the LORD. (Yahweh)
Name of God: YHWH / Yahweh / Jehovah: “LORD, Master”.
Strictly speaking, the only proper name for God. Translated in English Bibles “LORD” (all capitals) to distinguish it from Adonai, “Lord.”
This name specifies an immediacy, a presence. Yahweh is present, accessible, near to those who call on Him for deliverance (Psalm 107:13), forgiveness (Psalm 25:11) and guidance (Psalm 31:3).
From the verb “to be”, havah, similar to chavah (to live), “The Self-Existent One,” “I AM WHO I AM” as revealed to Moses at the burning bush, Exodus 3:14 . As the covenant name of God, by Jewish tradition this name is too holy to pronounce or write. Therefore they just wrote four letters without any vowels: YHWH.
